Austria: A grotesque show from the Cold War - FM Parrilla decries Trump's Cuba policy

Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla denounced the new US directive on Cuba announced by US President Donald Trump at a press conference in Vienna, Monday.

"It's been a grotesque show coming directly from the Cold War in front of reduced public consisting of old mercenaries and thieves of the Batista's dictatorship" he said.

Going on that the government was ignoring "the majoritarian support to the lifting of the blockade [against Cuba] and the normalisation of the relationship with Cuba".

On Friday Trump announced that his administration would introduce a new set of travel and trade restrictions for Cuba, claiming those previously established by former US President Barack Obama did "not help the Cuban people" and triggered " more repression " in the Latin American island.
